Free Books on Christmas Institute 2010

This morning, I have an e-mail waiting for me.

Dear Bernard,

As for your Christmas Institute request, I have good news - we will donate 130 copies of "Seeing and Savoring Jesus Christ" and have them transported to the Manila area by our volunteer courier, Terry Plath, on December 1 or 2.  We will arrange for the two of you to connect with each other directly on how you can obtain the books.  He will be there at Makati City in Metro Manila on assignment for his employer, so he will not have much freedom to travel.  Before I share his email address, please let me know if it will be possible to meet him in the Manila area to obtain your CI books.

For now, I will wait for your reply and then we can keep working things out.

Many Blessings,

International Outreach
Desiring God

The United Methodist young people of Pangasinan Central District is so blessed to have this gift. Please join me in praying, not just for the success of the pick-up, but more importantly for the books not to be wasted. May our sovereign GOD be pleased to use these books to create hearts that treasure Christ among United Methodists and, therefore, bring renewal. Let us also pray to GOD to continually bless Ptr. John Piper, Desiring God, and Mr. Jim Harrison. This may be our only way to truly thank them.

Praise the Lord! You may not be recruiting but somebody is interested: can you further expound the matter on "Alliance of Reformed Methodists" For sure many are interested as the Bishop of The United Today are getting out of bounce... in our culture... this is the so-called "crab-mentality" and many, many Methodists are opting to still be Methodists but probably disgusted with what is happening to the Bishops who are leaving a negative legacy. bad impression, instead of the reverse! That's why we long for the time of "bishop Valencia, etc." Yes, they are not perfect... but they are far far better. More Prayers for The United Methodist Church which might be under curse if what's happening continue to happen... Many pastors are commenting during the Workers Convocation: how can you teach forgiveness when you yourself don't know how to apply it! Others use the scriptures: "before you tell someone if he has a pick in the eye... look at yourself first in the mirror, baka there's a log..." So, give me some more light on Alliance of Reformed Methodists. God bless!

  3. I assume that the first post above is from the PCD-UMYF President. I recognize how he tackles the keys on his board.

For the second post, I believe, you are one of the clergy from our annual conference. I share the same sentiments with you pertaining to what's happening in the leadership. And I may disappoint you because ARM is not that able yet to be even called a movement. What it can at most do right now is to "dream" and earnestly pray for a renewal, reformation, and revival and to focus on the glory of the sovereign GOD, on the supremacy of Christ, and on the sufficiency of Scriptures.

I will be very grateful to exchange emails (my email) on what you think of these posts:

  5. I am greatly joyful upon hearing of that: truly, our Sovereign Lord wants us to be edified by the messages he has for us through his faithful servants, John Piper & Mr. Harrison.
